Yiramalay takes on the Gibb Challenge
To support the health and well-being of students, and the development of an educational social enterprise project that is taking shape at Yiramalay, the Studio School has registered a Yiramalay team in the Gibb Challenge - a 660km team relay cycling event, raising community awareness and funding for charity.
Yiramalay and Wesley students, together with staff, will join forces to form a team of 10 riders. The team aims to raise $10,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, principal beneficiary for the 2017 Gibb Challenge, to support vital healthcare and emergency services, including life-saving operations in the Kimberley region where the school is located. We seek to raise further funds to cover the event participation fees including bikes equipment which will be used to support an educational social enterprise project at Yiramalay. Subsequent funds will be used to support the prevention of youth suicide in the Kimberley and Yiramalay educational programs for students.
This challenge will provide students with a unique learning opportunity and will support community inclusion and cohesion. This is the first time a Yiramalay team has participated in a challenge of this magnitude. We invite you to please show your support, by making a donation at givematcher
